I am Susan Beard and I have sold real estate in Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1980. I list and sell homes in all areas of the city, but I SPECIALIZE in the mature residential neighborhoods surrounding the University of New Mexico. The UNM Area is one of the more stable and desirable real estate markets in Albuquerque. Some appraisers characterize it as recession proof. The homes feature plaster walls, authentic hardwood floors, mature landscaping, and a central location with easy access to UNM, downtown, Uptown, and both I25 and I40. Several lovely parks grace the area. Because this combination of amenities can not be duplicated in other parts of Albuquerque, the UNM Area always commands above average prices and has excellent resale value. The bulk of the area was built between 1925-1950. Many of the homes have been tastefully updated. The Nob Hill business area, part of historic Route 66 revitalization, features many fine restaurants and shops and is a hub for the area.
